Itinerary

Day 1

Airport > Kalpitiya

Arrival at the Bandaranayaka International Airport. Ayubowan...!! (May you have a Long Life)
Meet and greet by the representative of Magic Asia and transfer to your hotel in Negombo for overnight stay.

Day 2

Kalpitiya > Anuradhapura

Early morning “Whale watching” tour at Kalpitiya which is one of Sri Lanka’s top whale watching hotspots, perfect for breathtaking views of the enigmatic creatures. Getting to see the largest animal on earth up close and personal, is a once in a lifetime, awe-inspiring opportunity. Seeing whales in their natural habitat are something only a few of us can dream of, and Kalpitiya affords you this opportunity to view whales just a short distance from the island’s shore.

Kalpitiya: Kalpitiya is popular for its presence of a variety of whales, including Sperm Whales and Blue Whales, and a visit here is imperative as it is a world class attraction of marine life. The best time to spot whales in Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka is between November and April.

Continue your journey to Anuradhapura and experience a half day city tour.

Anuradhapura: Anuradhapura was the first capital of Sri Lanka established in the 4th century BC. It was the royal capital for 119 successive Singhalese Kings and lasted for about thousand five hundred years. Many historic monuments and buildings still remain The historic city of Anuradhapura is an essential stop on any tour of Sri Lanka.

Day 3

Anuradhapura > Wilpattu

Early breakfast at the hotel. You proceed to “Wilpattu National Park” for a full day city tour.

Wilpattu Sanctuary : Wilpattu sanctuary was declared as a National Park in 1938. The dry zone jungle is thickly grown. Wilpattu National Park is home for many natural lakes which dot the landscape in the Wilpattu National Park.
There are approximately 30 species of mammals in the Wilpattu National Park which include the Sri Lankan Elephant, Sri Lankan Leopard, Lankan Sloth Bear, Sri, Spotted Deer, Buffalo, Sambar and Mongoose.

Birdlife in the Wilpattu National Park: Wetland bird species found in the Wilpattu National Park include the Garganey, Pin tail, Whistling Teal, Spoonbill, White Ibis, Large White Egret, Cattle Egret and Purple Heron. Also, many species of Gulls, Terns, Owls, Kites and Eagles are also lives here.

Return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4

Wilpattu > Polonnaruwa > Minneriya > Habarana

Breakfast at the hotel. You proceed to Polonnaruwa another famous parts of the Cultural Triangle in Sri Lanka.

Polonnaruwa: was the second capital of Sri Lanka after the destruction of Anuradhapura in 993. It comprises, besides the Brahmanic monuments built by the Cholas, the monumental ruins of the fabulous garden-city created by Parakramabahu I in the 12th century.

From here, you move to “Minneriya National park”.

Minneriya National ParkBeing part of the elephant corridor which joins up with Kaudulla and Wasgomuwa parks, Minneriya National Park gives the opportunity to see herds of Elephants throughout the year. May to October is the best period to visit Minneriya National Park in view of the famous Gathering of the wild elephants. It is the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world.

Day 5

Habarana > Dambulla > Sigiriya > Matale > Kandy

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit “Golden Temple of Dambulla”.

Golden Temple of Dambulla: A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. The Buddhist mural paintings (covering an area of 2,100 m2) are of particular importance, as are the 157 statues. Another interesting fact is that the Archeologists state that this cave and other numerous caves around the main rock had been in use for dwelling in pre historic times too from the evidence found so far.

From here, you move to “Sigiriya” the Rock Fortress and the city Sigiriya

Sigiriya: Built by an obsessed monarch in the 5th century, Sigiriya or Lion Rock is an astonishing feat of engineering and construction. The most striking portion of Sigiriya, a terracotta and grey core of rock set in the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982, Sigiriya is Asia’s best preserved city of the first millennium, showing complex urban planning around the base of the rock, combined with sophisticated engineering and irrigation skills in the palace perched on the summit. It is considered it to be one of the oldest tourist attractions in the world with visitors recording their impressions in some of the earliest-known graffiti.

Just around the corner is “Matale” for its spices and spices gardens.

Spice Gardens: Sri Lanka is famous for its spices and spices gardens. These spice gardens offers tourists memorable visits to various spice plantations in Sri Lanka.

Arrive in Kandy

Kandy: Kandy is the charming hill capital of Sri Lanka and the island’s second largest city. Located 129 Km North-East of Colombo. Kandy is the country’s religious and cultural center and a World Heritage City.

In the evening proceed to the world famous Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the tooth Relic)

Dalada Maligawa: For Buddhists, Kandy is the sacred city. The focal point is the Dalada Maligawa also known as the temple of the tooth, where the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha is enshrined. There are many shrines and temples in and around Kandy, where you will see rare paintings, frescoes, wood and stone carvings.

After The visit to the Temple we proceed to the Cultural show.

The Cultural Show: The cultural show is famous among tourists to the hill capital, Kandy. The show is performed in the evening and runs for approximately one hour, during which the spectators are held spellbound by the colourful acts on show.

Day 6

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (By Train)

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Peradeniya railway station and take train ride to Nanu Oya. This journey will give you a memorable experience of the tour. You will pass by the amazing landscape of Sri Lanka. Arrive in Nanu Oya and continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya by Car. On the way you will stop at a “Tea Factory” and taste a cup of “Ceylon Tea”.

Nuwara Eliya: Arrive in Nuwara Eliya and enjoy a sightseeing tour in ‘Little England’. While most British visitors struggle to recognise modern England in Nuwara Eliya, the ambience does have an English country village feel to it.
A cool-climate within 4 hours drive from the busy Colombo life is a great place for tourist to chill and relax with a cold Beer. But during April’s spring release, the town is crowded with domestic holidaymakers enjoying horse racing and sports-car hill climbs, and celebrating the Sri Lankan New Year. For the rest of the year, the economy is based on tea, cool-climate vegetables, tourism and even more tea.

Day 7

Nuwara Eliya > Ella > Yala

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Yala via Ella. Stop at Ella Motel for a cup of tea and enjoy the beautiful Ella Gap view. Continue your journey to Yala National Park.

Yala National Park: which is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. Yala combines a strict nature reserve with a national park. Divided into 5 blocks, the park has a protected area of nearly 130,000 hectares of land consisting of light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks and lagoons. Two blocks are currently opened to the public.
The best time to visit Yala is between February and July when the water levels of the park are quite low, bringing animals into the open. Best time to Visit is from June to September.

Check in at your hotel and enjoy an afternoon Safari at Yala National Park. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight stay at Yala.

Yala

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day safari at Yala National Park. Overnight stay at Yala

Day 9

Yala > Galle > Colombo

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Colombo. On the way visit Galle.

Galle: The walled city has stood since the early sixteenth century, through the Colonial periods of the Portuguese, Dutch and British and in our present times is proclaimed as an Archaeological Reserve and been identified as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Continue your journey to Colombo. Enjoy a short sightseeing tour of Colombo and check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10

Colombo

Breakfast at the hotel. You will be transferred to Bandaranayke International Airport for departure
